This 30-page report briefly summarizes the most important findings of the 1998 South Africa Demographic and Health Survey (SADHS), with further analysis after an impact evaluation of government health services on the health of the local population. The information and findings presented in these pages represent a summary of a more extensive report, which is also available on the MEASURE Evaluation Web site. This report includes analyses not present in that larger report, including socio-economic status analyses, regional analyses, survival analyses, adult health analyes, and impact evaluation analyses.
