Author(s): MEASURE Evaluation
Year: 2019
Abstract:MEASURE Evaluation, funded by the United States Agency for International Development, has been working with Senegal’s Ministry of Health and Social Action (MOH) and Division of Health and Social Information System (DHSIS) to improve the quality of the country’s early warning system for disease outbreaks. MEASURE Evaluation has been supporting the MOH’s
efforts to achieve a more unified health information system (HIS)—an effort that includes the integration of community-level data and laboratory data to support a more efficient early warning system. Much of this work strengthens elements of the HIS identified in
MEASURE Evaluation’s Health Information System Strengthening Model (HISSM), shown to the right.
MEASURE Evaluation’s work to support HIS strengthening in Senegal affects the enabling environment for the HIS and information generation—both areas outlined in the HISSM.
