Learning what works to improve health information systems

MEASURE Evaluation, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), has a mandate to examine interventions that are successful in improving health data for decision making. As part of this “learning agenda,” the project has written four documents that synthesize literature and project activities in four areas of work.

Those areas are: (1) how capacity building for health workers can improve health systems; (2) how data systems and work processes can be improved to reduce the burden of data collection for health workers; (3) what interventions can improve disease surveillance to detect outbreaks; and (4) what interventions and systems can provide better continuity of care for people seeking health services.
