A tribute to our dear friend, Subrata
DHAKA, Bangladesh—Subrata Kumar Bhadra passed away unexpectedly on March 27, 2018. He is survived by his wife and two children. Subrata had a long history with MEASURE Evaluation. He was one of the very first persons to collaborate on the MEASURE Evaluation activities in Bangladesh in the early 2000s. He was also one of the first to win a MEASURE Evaluation Fellowship to attend Mahidol University in Thailand to obtain a Master of Arts in Population and Reproductive Health Research (International Program). Subrata worked at the National Institute for Population Research and Training in Bangladesh, an institution with which MEASURE Evaluation has partnered on several surveys including the 2006 and 2013 Urban Health Surveys and 2010 and 2016 Bangladesh Maternal Mortality and Health Care surveys. Subrata was a core member of that team. His thoughtful insights, hard work, and commitment to high-quality survey work were critical to the success of these surveys.
Ever eager, consistently positive, and always smiling, Subrata was one of a kind. He was a great colleague and a dear friend. Subrata will be sorely missed by colleagues all over the world. Our deepest condolences and our everlasting respect to Subrata and his family.
