RELACSIS
"The work which we have been involved in for the last four to five years has culminated in the creation of RELACSIS which is country-owned, country-led and will contribute to the sustainability of future activities in strengthening health information systems," said Beatriz Plaza, a former health information system (HIS) specialist with MEASURE.
RELACSIS facilitates knowledge exchange via a Web-based network where users can share and retrieve best practices for strengthening HIS. The regional network determines regional gaps in HIS, develops needed tools, implements advocacy strategies to improve health information systems in member countries, and provides technical advice for capacity development in the region. Technical guidance to the network has been provided by PAHO, MEASURE Evaluation, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, UNICEF, and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean.
