Data for Impact (D4I) is hosting a one-hour webinar, on June 18, 2019 at 9 a.m. EDT. Presenters from two organizations in Kenya and Southern Africa will share experiences in identifying opportunities and gaps for institutional strengthening to build technical and institutional capacity in preparation to apply for and manage direct awards from USAID or other donors.

This webinar follows another held in April 2019. (To access that webinar, click here.) This webinar builds on the earlier session, which focused on the experiences of three projects in developing and adapting tools to assess and plan for capacity strengthening.  These webinars are part of a series to support discussions, sharing, and learning about effective approaches that support countries in their journey to self-reliance.

D4I is a five-year (2018–2023) project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to generate evidence, facilitate the use of data for decision making, and build the capacity of local organizations to increase their self-reliance.

Heidi Reynolds, director, D4I, will introduce and moderate the topic. Dr. Ambrose Agweyu, an advisor with HealthStrat, and Stephanie Watson-Grant, director of field operations, MEASURE Evaluation, will share their experience working together to implement an evaluation capacity strengthening plan. Kelvin Sikwibele, CEO, Institute for Health Measurement (IHM) Southern Africa, will describe experience building financial and management systems to meet donor requirements.

Register to attend the webinar.
